The "Car of the Year" has been updated and also lowered in price
Renault Argentina launched the updated Kardian , the compact crossover that was named "Car of the Year 2025" by Grupo Premia, a group of specialized automotive industry journalists.
One year after its arrival on the local market, the Kardian received equipment improvements , raising its level of technology, connectivity and safety.
It also restructured its range, which now includes three versions (the Techno 200 EDC variant has been discontinued), and revised its prices compared to the list published at the beginning of August.
The entry-level variant (Evolution MT), equipped with the 115 hp 1.6 engine and five-speed manual transmission, has been reduced by $650,000 , leaving it at $30,400,000.
The range consists of three versions. The Techno 200 EDC has been discontinued, and the "Premier Edition" is now known as the "Iconic."
On the other hand, the versions that have the 120 hp 1.0 turbo engine and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (Evolution 200 EDC and the new Iconic 200 EDC - which replaced the Premiere Edition -) increased by $ 200,000 ($ 34,010,000) and $ 100,000 ($ 37,290,000) respectively.
As a major new feature, the entire range features a new 10.1" multimedia display, replacing the previous 8.0" display and including the advanced OpenR Link operating system. According to the brand, it offers a larger and more intuitive interface, optimizing the user experience with more fluid connectivity.
The new Iconic (full) version also includes two additional USB Type-C ports, while the digital instrument panel has grown from 7" to 10.2". The rest of the range retains the 7" display.
The instrument panel is now 10.2" in the full version (7" in the rest of the range). The multimedia screen has been increased to 10".
The top-of-the-range version also improved safety, incorporating more driving aids such as the automatic high and low beam system (which improves nighttime visibility without dazzling other drivers) and autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
It also acquired a connected services module that allows remote access to various functions through the My Renault app.
Highlighted features include:
- Vehicle Geolocation : Allows you to easily locate your car in large parking lots or unfamiliar environments, showing its exact location and last time of use.
New eco-leather upholstery for the Iconic variant.
- Vehicle Health Monitoring : Provides real-time information on fuel levels, remaining range, and maintenance alerts, allowing for more forward-thinking trip planning.
- Tracking in case of theft : Through a partnership with Ituran, vehicle tracking is enabled in case of theft, facilitating its recovery along with the corresponding police report.
- Remote operations : Lights and horn can be activated from the app to make locating them easier.
This service will be available free of charge for the first three years , thanks to the addition of a telemetry unit with a 5G modem and integrated eSIM, which allows the vehicle to connect directly to the cloud.
